The Ireland Men's Sevens squad made their debut on the GB7s Tour last Saturday and for speed merchant Diarmuid McCarthy in particular, it will be a weekend to remember.

The Wolfhounds finished a credible fourth in the tournament held in Edinburgh, defeating Welsh Charitables and Forces Exiles in their opening two games before suffering defeat to Samurai, Wailers and Samurai again in the 3rd/4th place play-off.

Young Munster and Munster winger added to his growing reputation with two tries at the weekend, but it his length of the pitch effort in the 21-17 defeat to the Wailers that was undoubtedly the moment of the match

Watch the stunning solo effort from the 24-year-old below:

Next weekend the Ireland's extended Sevens panel with the Rugby Europe Men's Division C competition taking place in Zenica, while Coventry's Broadstreet RFC will host the second stage of the GB7s Tour.
