Rugby might not be under the same microscope as athletics or cycling when it comes to doping but today's ruling by World Rugby shows that there is a dark side to the sport.
South Africa hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle, who has been capped 22 times for the Springboks, has been handed a two-year ban after testing positive for the banned substance drostanolone during an out-of-competition test in March of 2014.
Ralepelle had been recovering from a knee injury sustained in action for his club Toulouse at the time of the test. He has opted not to appeal the suspension and he will be free to resume his playing career on April 10, 2016.
