Ireland's youngsters produced a superb performance to beat their French counterparts in Dooradoyle.
Jack Kelly crossed for two tries in the first half while Gavin Coombes and Colm Hogan touched down in the second period to give Ireland a well-deserved win.
France opened the scoring after they finally broke down a resolute Irish defence through Alexandre Nicoue.
Ireland responded immediately through Kelly. Fitzgerald added the extras to level the game.
France struck again in the 24th minute when captain Baptiste Couilloud finished off a great move. Fitzgerald added a penalty before France struck again. Ireland were in no mood to lie down though and Kelly went over for his second try. Fitzgerald converted to leave the half-time score at 21-17 in France's favour.
The home side dominated the second half but it took until the 56th minute before they finally got a third try through Coombes. Ciaran Frawley added a penalty for a four-point lead with nine minutes left and Ireland capped off a great win when Colm Hogan finished off a well-worked backline move to score their fourth try that Frawley converted.
