Hughes inspires Moyne

Moyne CS captured this Leinster schools title following a highly entertaining contest at Tullamore RFC.

Moyne opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Cormac McCabe finished off a fine move involving Mark Hughes and Cathal McCabe.

Hughes converted and, minutes later, extended the midlanders' advantage further with a penalty.

Scoil Chonglais responded when centre Adam Doyle touched down after some slack defending to cut the gap to 10-5 at the break.

The Baltinglass side battled hard in the second half, but a try from captain James McGarahan, which Hughes converted, put paid to any hope of a comeback.
