Horan cover ruled out

IRELAND have no immediate plans to replace Marcus Horan in their squad for the November Internationals, which kick off against South Africa on November 6, writes HUGH FARRELLY.

The Munster loose-head faces four to six weeks on the sidelines after breaking a bone in his hand, but Ireland look set to stick with the five remaining props in their 34-man panel.

Cian Healy is the specialist loose-head in the squad, but Tom Court and Tony Buckley have both played in that position regularly and Mike Ross has experience there also, with John Hayes the specialist tight-head.

Hooker Jerry Flannery is due to see a specialist in Liverpool today after suffering a reoccurrence of his calf injury in last weekend's Heineken Cup victory over Toulon.
