The Heineken Cup Final is coming back to Dublin in 2013, it was confirmed today.
The Aviva will play host to European rugby’s competition for the first time since the state-of-the-art 50,000 capacity arena opened last year.
Lansdowne Road previously staged the event in 1999 when Ulster became the first Irish team to lift the trophy.
The old stadium also hosted the all-French final of 2003, when Toulouse beat Perpignan.
The 2010 final has already been confirmed for Twickenham, in London.
Both finals took place in Cardiff on the same weekend last month, with Harlequins capturing the Amblin Challenge Cup, before Leinster claimed a second Heineken Cup the day after.
