Jamie Heaslip has hinted that his Leinster and Ireland team-mate Brian O'Driscoll may postpone his retirement.
Speaking to Newstalk, the Leinster captain praised teammate O'Driscoll and said, "He's a very good bloke and has a very good all-round sense of things, he's an icon of the sport and still a very good bloke, he will be missed."
Before adding, "there might be a chance for one more year again at the end of the season, you never know."
O'Driscoll had already signalled his intention to retire at the end of the summer, bringing an end to a legendary 15-year playing career, but impressive performances in the current six-nations campaign could see the centre postpone his plans with a view to the next World Cup in England.
Heaslip went on to say, "let's say Brian does decide to finish up, it's an opportunity for others as well. Who's going to step up? Who's going to fill his shoes?"
