Welsh rugby dealt a big blow with star fullback set to join Saracens Newsdesk Newsdesk

Lions hopeful Liam Williams looks set to become the latest Wales star to move abroad, with the fullback reportedly joining English giants Saracens from next season.

According to Wales Online, the Scarlets back will leave his club after the current campaign, in another blow to Warren Gatland's plan to keep his best players at home.

Williams will join Taulupe Faletau, Rhys Priestland (both Bath), Leigh Halfpenny (Toulon), Jamie Roberts (Harlequins) and George North (Northampton) in playing his club rugby abroad, although French-based placekicker Halfpenny is tipped to return to Wales at the end of this campaign.

At the moment, Gatland is allowed select four overseas players, so he could be left with some big selection dilemmas next season unless some more of his stars return to Wales.

Williams is being widely tipped for a place in Gatland's Lions squad, which is set to tour New Zealand this summer.
