Leinster utility back Fergus McFadden has been handed a three-week ban for a stamp on Connacht prop Nathan White in their Guinness Pro12 clash at the RDS last Friday.
McFadden was adjudged to have “stamped and trampled” on White during a ruck.
The 29-year-old was found to be in breach of Law 10.4 (b), an act that would have warranted a red card had it been spotted by the referee.
McFadden's clean disciplinary record and acknowledgement that he was in the wrong meant that he didn't received the usual punishment of a five-week ban.
The suspension means the winger will miss the Pro1 clash with the Ospreys on Friday and the last two remaining Champions Cup fixtures with Bath and Wasps.
