Pro12 Team News: Boss to make Pro12 history, Humphreys return and Connacht debutants
Leinster scrum-half Isaac Boss is set to make history this weekend after he was selected for the Guinness Pro12 opener against Glasgow Wattiors at Scotstoun.
Boss will become the first player to represent two Irish provinces 100 times when he lines out for Matt O'Connor's side which will be captained by Sean O'Brien in the absence of Jamie Heaslip.
Jimmy Gopperth gets the nod at number 12, while Sean Cronin returns after undergoing surgery earlier in the summer, with international colleagues Cian Healy and Mike Ross either side.
In the second row, Ben Marshall starts his first PRO12 game since February 2013 after an injury ravaged season last year.
Ian Humphreys starts at out-half for Ulster after re-joining the province in the summer when they take on the Scarlets.
Jared Payne and Stuart Olding will be the midfield partnership with a strong back-row of Robbie Diack, Chris Henry and Roger Wilson named by Director of Rugby Les Kiss.
Connacht begin their campaign against the Newport Gwent Dragons and coach Pat Lam has given three players their debut for the province.
Lock Quinn Roux, scrum half Ian Porter and wing Niyi Adeolokun all start, with Jack Carty given the number 10 jersey.
