Ospreys hit with €116k fine

THE Ospreys have been fined €116,000 and deducted four points for the 2010/11 Magners League season for failing to fulfil their fixture against Ulster at Ravenhill on March 19.
The Welsh outfit, who face Glasgow in the Magners League play-off semi-final at the Liberty Stadium this evening, claimed they did not have sufficient front-row cover to play the tie, but a Celtic Disciplinary Panel found this explanation unsatisfactory at a meeting in Glasgow yesterday.
Ospreys were found to have breached tournament rules and fine plus points-deduction sanctions were imposed.
The Ospreys have the right to appeal the decision.
