JJ Hanrahan insists there is no danger of Munster's Heineken Cup heroics derailing their bid for league glory.

The versatile Kerry back said that there was a concerted effort this year to ensure that their standing in the Pro12 was not affected during the Six Nations or around big Heineken Cup weekends.

Hanrahan has come off the bench in all seven Heineken Cup games and has also featured in 15 league games, starting in nine of them during a season in which he has scored 145 points.

The 21-year old said that the superb win over Toulouse last weekend was quickly put aside and the full focus all week has been on tomorrow's clash with Glasgow at Thomond Park.

"The next eight weeks are very important for us and this is a massive game for us in terms of the Pro12. We want a home semi-final," he said.

"Last year you had your internationals coming back and playing Heineken Cup and doing really well and you had the Pro12 side who let the team down a bit while the big boys were away.

"This year, at the start of the year, we said we'd put a big emphasis on that, we're going to be strong on both sides of the board. The young fellas tried to drive on this year.

"And any time you get your opportunity you are trying to put the pressure on the fella in front of you."
