The official attendance at Thomond Park last Friday was listed as somewhere north of 13,000. I suspect in reality that it was about half of that.

I'm delighted to say I was one of them as for the second time in the month of October I witnessed a Pro12 game (the other against Glasgow Warriors) of the highest entertainment value.

In a selfish vein it was great on both Friday nights to be able to make it back to Dublin before the clock struck ten but why oh why in the interest of Munster and Pro12 rugby will someone, anyone, please explain to me the rationale behind a six o'clock kick-off on a Friday evening?

Even from a TV perspective it makes no sense whatsoever. It's tough enough for supporters living in the Treaty City to make their way across town after work so what chance those travelling from elsewhere in the province not least from Cork?

I recently did the Limerick/Cork road for the first time in donkey's years and suffice to say that even minus the sugar beet trucks it's as bad now as it ever was. Talk about shooting yourself in both feet!
