French sports magazine L’Equipe has claimed that Jonathan Sexton has finally signed for Racing Metro in a deal worth in the region of €600,000 a year for two seasons with the option of a third year.
L’Equipe, quoting a source close to the club, said that Sexton had been looking for a salary of €750,000 per annum but Racing owner Jacky Lorenzetti would only sanction a salary of €600,000 and Sexton signed on the dotted line today.
Sexton is currently out of action after suffering a grade two tear of his hamstring in the 12-6 defeat to England in the Six Nations.
The 27-year-old Dubliner will become one of the highest paid rugby players on the planet if the rumours of the deal prove accurate.
