Former Connacht full-back and All Black, Mils Muliaina, has been charged with sexual assault following an alleged incident in Cardiff last March, it has been confirmed.
Muliaina was filmed on television being taken away by police after the final whistle of Connacht's European Challenge Cup quarter-final match against Gloucester last March for an alleged sexual assault.
The 34-year-old intends to plead not guilty, according to the New Zealand Rugby Players Association.
“Mils strenuously denies any wrongdoing and intends to plead not guilty," read a statement from the Association.
Muliaina is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court on August 7.
A South Wales Police statement said: "Mils Muliaina has been charged with sexual assault on a female aged 16 or over. He is scheduled to appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court on August 7, 2015."
