Filling Isa’s boots: The Contenders
ZANE KIRCHNER (South Africa)
Age:28 Caps: 24
Kirchner (right) would not be a like-for-like replacement for Nacewa, given most of the Springbok’s appearances for the Blue Bulls and his country have come at full-back, where the province are well-served by Rob Kearney.
His undoubted creative spark would certainly compensate for the New Zealander's departure, however, but South Africa's policy of selecting their European-based players for internationals may work against him.
ADAM ASHLEY-COOPER (Australia)
Age: 28 Caps: 77
The ultimate utility back, Ashley-Cooper's name has been linked with Leinster all winter and he may see this summer as the perfect time to move to Europe on the back of the Lions tour.
Given the prospect of Brian O'Driscoll retiring, the Wallaby's ability in the centre would work in his favour.
WILLIE LE ROUX (South Africa)
Guy Easterby mentioned “signings” yesterday and the uncapped utility back Le Roux could be added to the Leinster ranks along with a higher-profile name this summer in the mould of Richardt Strauss and Quinn Roux.
Proficient across the backline, he has been excellent for the Cheetahs this season.
DREW MITCHELL (Australia)
Age: 26 Caps:63
An out-and-out winger who would fill the IRFU requirements, Mitchell has scored 30 tries for Australia and would certainly strengthen the Leinster finishing power if added to the squad.
