English not chirpy after Care tweets

WHILE on the subject of freedom of expression, England's Danny Care has come under fire from his employers for using Twitter to have a go at -- you guessed it -- refereeing.

"Does Wayne Barnes want to give any more shocking decisions to help the Leicester home team out?!! No shock there!!" blasted the Harlequins and England scrum-half as he watched his side's 18-13 loss to Leicester last Friday.

This was followed a little later by: "Wayne Barnes ... hang your head pal!! Reward the team who want to play rugby, not just kick penalties!!!"

Care subsequently apologised to Barnes but the English RFU will assess the wider use of Twitter.

One hopes that the IRFU don't follow suit -- thousands of people seemingly garner hours of fun following Irish players from their TV schedules to their local burger joint and back to their games console.
