Eddie O'Sullivan denies speculation he is taking over Cyprus

Former Ireland head coach Eddie O’Sullivan has denied speculation that he has been appointed director of rugby for the Cyprus national team.

O’Sullivan was Ireland head coach from 2001 to 2008, and had stints with the US national team before and After his Irish tenure Cyprus Rugby Federation secretary Andreas Iounnou has been credited with signing O’Sullivan, but O'Sullivan has denied reports that any deal is done.

President of Cyprus rugby Laurence Vasiliades commented: “Andreas put this proposition regarding Eddie O’Sullivan to me, which at first seemed too good to be true, but it’s not, and here he is.

“Eddie is deeply committed to supporting emerging rugby nations and has volunteered to work alongside our coaching staff to prepare us for our World-Cup play-offs and watch over our progress.”
