Dry your eyes Leigh

Leigh Halfpenny has ensured the currency of sledging will retain its familiar strength in the Millennium Stadium on Saturday following his revelation that he cried after picking up his last injury.

"I just broke down in tears," said the Wales wing. "It was absolute devastation because I had put in so much hard work, put in a couple of good performances for the Blues and had a couple of man-of-the-match awards."

Halfpenny also had a curtailed Lions tour in 2009 due to injury and he will play against Ireland with two fingers strapped together after picking up another knock.

Intra-Celtic sledging reminds us of the great Moss Keane line when he uncharacteristically stood aside from a mass brawl while playing for the Welsh Barbarians against a touring South African side: "I might die for Ireland but I'm f****d if I'm going to die for Wales." DK
