Deegan wonder-try sets Ardscoil Ris on their way to resounding triumph

Ardscoil RIs ran out comfortable winners in this all-Limerick clash at Anacotty.

Trailing to a Brian Moriarty try (8-3) at half-time, Glenstal's Kevin O'Keefe slotted a penalty to cut the lead to two points – but it was as close as they got.

Ten minutes later Ardscoil scored their first of five tries in a magical half-hour spell. Centre Robbie Deegan got the try of the game, breaking three tackles before diving over.

Former Munster scrum-half Mike Prendergast, who is part of the coaching team of Ardscoil Ris, said: "It's all about getting quick ball and we struggled to do that in the first half, but once we generated that in the second half, the spaces opened up."

Local rivals St Munchin's are next up for Ardscoil Ris.
