Trio in the hat for April award
The Connacht Rugby April Player of the Month award sponsored by Hartmann's of Galway and SEIKO Watches is down for decision with Rodney Ah You, Robbie Henshaw and Aly Muldowney in contention.
Connacht played three games in April, with all of them ending in defeats - they lost 14-7 to Gloucester in the Challenge Cup quarter-final at Kingsholm on April 3.
Then it was 27-20 in favour of Ulster in the Pro12 at the Sportsground on April 11 before they succumbed to a 31-13 walloping at the hands of Glasgow on April 25, also at the Galway venue.
The latter defeat meant that Connacht relinquished their coveted sixth spot and the final automatic qualification spot for Europe. They slipped to eighth in the standings, but they got back to seventh when they beat Zebre last weekend.
However, there were some encouraging personal performances throughout the side with Ah You, Henshaw and Muldowney starting all three games.
Meanwhile, today is the last chance for Connacht supporters to vote for their Life Style Sports player of the year.
Henshaw, Matt Healy, John Muldoon, Denis Buckley and Muldowney are all in the running for the award, which will be presented at tomorrow night's Connacht awards dinner.
