In seven weeks' time Connacht will kick-off their Champions Cup campaign against Toulouse at the Sportsground, and already the French club have a couple of Top14 games under their belt this season.
Toulouse have already pulled clear at the top of the standings following victories in their first two games of the new campaign.
In round one they beat Montpellier 20-12, and then Ian Madigan was unable to help Bordeaux-Begles avoid a 22-17 defeat at Stade Ernest Wallon.
This weekend Toulouse face a serious test of their form when they travel to the home of the champions to take on Ronan O'Gara's Racing 92.
Elsewhere, Wasps launch their English Premiership campaign on Sunday afternoon when they welcome Exeter Chiefs to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
Wasps have experienced an unbeaten pre-season with wins over Yorkshire Carnegie and Bristol, but fellow Champions Cup side Exeter will pose a tricky test first up for Dai Young's side.
And Connacht's fellow Pro12 outfit, Zebre, start their league season with a daunting trip to the Liberty Stadium to face Ospreys.
The Italians will be Connacht's second opponent in the Champions Cup when they meet at Stadio Lanfranchi on Sunday, October 23, but before that the teams will face off at the same venue in Round 3 of the Pro12.
