Two wins had seen Connacht's Champions Cup rivals off to a bright start as table-toppers, but Dan Carter's boot, and tries from Bernard Le Roux and Juan Imhoff saw them lose out.

And it doesn't get any easier for Toulouse, who host a Toulon side who only have one win to their name so far this season.

English side Wasps got their season off to a fine start with a 25-20 victory over Exeter Chiefs at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Led by the impressive Jimmy Gopperth , who crossed for a first-half try, Dai Young's side were in control throughout and tries from Dan Robson and Tommy Taylor wrapped up the four points.

It gets a touch trickier for Wasps tomorrow as they travel to Welford Road to take on Leicester Tigers in Round 2.

Meanwhile, Connacht's fellow Pro12 side Zebre also had a miserable first weekend of the season as they shipped eight tries in a heavy defeat to Ospreys in Swansea.

Ospreys hooker Sam Parry ran in a hat-trick for his side, but Zebre's No 2 Tommaso d'Apice also got in on the act with a try of his own.

And Italy's top side will hope to earn a first win of the season tonight when they travel to Newport to face the improved Dragons.
