My dad Des has coached me since U-14level and has helped me with my rugby since then. Also my strength and conditioning coach Tommy Craddock has helped me in countless ways since I started playing rugby.

Famous Marist alumni?

Cathal Sheridan - Munster.

Player most admired?

Francois Louw, Bath RFC, for his leadership and the aggressive way he plays the game.

Most memorable game?

My first game for the Irish U-18 clubs in Italy v Italy was a huge honour and also winning the senior cup with my school last year.

What does it mean to captain your side this year?

It's a massive honour and something I had wished to do since I played Junior rugby. This role is a big responsibility as there has been many great Senior Cup captains.
