I am from Naas, Co Kildare so I started playing rugby with Naas RFC from U-7s level. I represented Newbridge College on the Junior Cup team in 2008 and the Senior Cup team of 2011, when I was also named Forward of the Year.

I was nominated for Connacht Player of the Year at both U-19 and U-20 level while I was studying in IT Carlow. I then joined the Connacht Academy in 2013 and moved to Galway.

Favourite Connacht game?

Connacht's 10-9 Pro12 win over Leinster in September 2014 at the Sportsground. I will always remember Kieran Marmion's step on Rob Kearney to score that try!

Most memorable game I have played in?

December 2014: My first senior cap with the province will live long in my memory. We travelled to Bayonne in the Challenge Cup and pulled off a great win against the French side and all the odds.

My parents travelled over to the game as well which was great.

Favourite ground?

Kingsholm, home of Gloucester. I made two appearances during last year's Challenge Cup campaign and the atmosphere was amazing on both occasions, particularly for the Champions Cup play-off that went to extra time.

100 minutes of rugby and I couldn't hear myself on the pitch. . . let alone the other lads!
