The Future is Bright: Conor McKeon (Second year academy)

I was born in Dublin and live in Rathfarnham with my family. I began my rugby at five years of age. I first played under coach Vinny Hammond at St Mary's RFC.
I was also a keen hurler with Ballyboden St Enda's and Dublin at underage level but I chose rugby over hurling when I started in Gonzaga College for secondary school.
I joined the Connacht academy in July 2014 and really enjoyed my first year in Galway.
In the later part of the season, I was training with the senior squad for some sessions and earned my first cap when I came on from the bench and kicked two conversions in the 40-10 Pro12 win away to Zebre in May. That was a great experience.
Favourite Connacht game: Watching Connacht beat Leinster at the Sportsground last September was pretty special. It was a great atmosphere and a great performance to beat the defending champions.
Most memorable game I have played in: With the Ireland Schools team when we beat France in the European semi-final. This was my first big win in rugby along with the U-13s cup for Gonzaga College in first year!
Favourite ground: The best stadium I have played in was Eden Park with the Ireland U-20s against the junior All Blacks. Playing at the Aviva Stadium with my previous club Lansdowne in the All-Ireland League is also up there as a great memory.
