The sun shone on Dangan for the NUIG/Na Bairneachaí National School Blitz as 150 pupils enjoyed a wonderful day.
The annual event saw pupils from 5th and 6th classes from Scoil Bhríde Mionloch, St Joseph's NS Buaile Beag, St Enda's NS, Galway Educate Together, Knocknacarra NS and Bush Park NS gathered for the non-competitive blitz.
Connacht club and community rugby officer Conor Galvin organised the event and said: "It's great to see so many young players taking up the game.
"Some of these students have only had a couple of sessions of coaching so to put them in an environment like this where they can enjoy the game with their peers is a fantastic step in their rugby development.
Today is all about the fun and engagement and hopefully we'll see a number of these pupils go on to play with their local clubs in the coming seasons."
Galvin paid tribute to the teachers for their role in organising the day, as well as to the Connacht staff who refereed and coached.
