While the result in the Sportsground turned most heads, the display of Kieran Marmion was the real highlight for me. He was fantastic throughout and it was a piece of individual brilliance from him that won the game for Connacht.

He was always one of those guys who could turn you inside out in a small area. He was always quick but I think he has added a lot more pace to his game. He is now a lot quicker across longer distances, which says a lot about the strength and conditioning staff in Connacht.

He reminds me a lot of Eoin Reddan, and he'll probably do battle with him for Ireland honours now. Conor Murray is the No 1 at the minute and Kieran doesn't have the experience of the other guys, but he is putting his hand up like a lot of Connacht players.

But he was definitely the No 1 half-back on view on Friday last. He played the game like a more experienced pro and was the main spark that lit up Connacht's game.

Defences will be afraid of him now, his decision making is improving with experience and he is adapting well. Watch this space!
