Matt Brown's men made the perfect start to the new year when two tries from Marc Kelly and an Ed O'Keefe effort helped them to a 15-12 win at Crowley Park against Young Munster last weekend.

'Wegians currently sit in eighth place and need to start winning away from home if they want to move up the table, and avoid a relegation scrap towards the end of the season.

In 1B Buccaneers are also on the road when they make the difficult journey to take on Dublin University at College Park on Saturday.

Buccs also began 2016 in positive fashion with an 18-7 victory at home to UL Bohemians and they have the potential to launch a bid for promotion with a few more big displays in the second half of the season.

In 2A Corinthians face a long trip south to the Mardyke where they face the students of UCC. Corinthians are bottom of the standings and need to turn things around if they want to avoid the possibility of back to back relegations.

In the bottom tier Sligo slipped up at home to Tullamore last weekend and host Bruff at Hamilton Park.
