The Ulster Bank League Division 1B culminates tomorrow in a mouth-watering tie between second-placed Galwegians and leaders Garryowen at Crowley Park (2.30).

Matt Browne's men had been in control of 1B for much of the season but they slipped up away to Belfast Harlequins last time out and that opened the door for Garryowen.

They defeated Malone and are in pole position now to return to the top tier after last year's relegation.

When these sides met before Christmas 'Wegians won 10-6 at Dooradoyle thanks to a try from Doron McHugh.

Victory tomorrow would see them leap-frog Garryowen once more for their second promotion in two seasons.

The runners-up in 1B will face into a tough away-day promotion/relegation play-off with the team who finish second from bottom in 1A.

Last year Buccaneers finished second in 1B, then lost 35-13 at Ballynahinch in the play-off.

This season Buccs are sixth ahead of their final-day fixture in Ballymena, and the highest they can finish is fifth.

Corinthians travel to take on UL Bohemians at Thomond Park tomorrow but their fate has already been sealed and they will play in 2A after two seasons in 1B.

In 2B, Sligo are eighth ahead of their final fixture at home to Greystones.
