AJ MacGinty was unable to inflict a crucial blow on Wasps as they warmed up to face his former team in the Champions Cup with Dai Young's troops getting back to winning ways against Sale Sharks last weekend.

There was bad news on the international scene for Wasps though with the three-week suspension for Elliot Daly after his sending-off for England against Fiji ruled the winger out of their double-header with Pat Lam's side. But, on the positive side, this 34-24 win sees them back into second place in the standings.

Wasps had the points wrapped up by half-time thanks to tries from Danny Cipriani and Ashley Johnson (2), but after the restart they ran in another two from Rob Miller to wrap up the maximum haul.

Wasps are away to Worcester Warriors at Sixways this Sunday (3pm), a week out from the arrival of Connacht to the Ricoh Arena in the Champions Cup and Connacht supporters can catch the action live on BT Sports.

In the Top 14 there was a rare week off for the players as the French national team took on New Zealand in Paris, but Connacht's pool rivals, Toulouse, get back to action on Sunday with a home game against Brive.

And in the Pro12, Zebre again fell foul to the weather as their game with Ulster was postponed last weekend due to a frozen pitch in Belfast, but they will be keen for some action tomorrow when they host Scarlets in Parma.
