The local community pitch is converted from GAA to rugby for the day and everyone in the village lends a hand in one way or another.

Teams visited from as far away as Skerries in North Dublin to Gorey in Wexford.

Westport, Connemara Blacks, Oughterard, Na Bearnachaí and Galway Corinthians all sent teams.

Over 400 children took part and availed of a free BBQ, which ran all day, giving out over 800 burgers and hotdogs.

The Connemara Cup was won by Old Crescent U-14s, beating Galway Corinthians (featuring six ex-An Ghaeltacht Players) 3-0 in extra-time.

The Rose final was won by Skerries U-14s, beating Westport 12-7
