Connacht's brave fightback proves in vain as Munster cling on in thriller
Munster 40-33 Connacht
Creggs RFC was the venue for the exciting Junior interprovincial match between Connacht and Munster last weekend.
Connacht lay second in the table going into the final weekend of matches and needed to beat Munster to stand any chance of winning the competition outright.
Connacht began well with a converted try from Michael O'Toole, with Shane Sweeny adding the extra points.
In a high scoring game Connacht trailed going into the later stages but a spirited performance in the last ten minutes left Munster hanging on at the end. Despite Connacht's endeavours Munster ran out 40-33.
Ulster took the title following a 20-7 final-day victory over defending champions Leinster.
