Connacht star Jack Carty has spleen removed after water slide accident
Connacht fly-half Jack Carty will be out of action 1-3 months after suffering a ruptured spleen while on holiday.
The 23-year-old suffered the water slide accident while on holidays in Dubai last week and had his spleen removed in a hospital over there.
The Athlone man will spend another week in hospital in Dubai before he is well enough to return home.
Elsewhere, JP Cooney who underwent shoulder stabilisation surgery in October played 60 minutes for Garryowen FC at the weekend and is now available for selection
Jason Harris-Wright, Matt Healy and Sean O'Brien have suffered concussion injuries recently but should be available for selection for Thursday's game with the Newport Gwent Dragons in Wales.
