Connacht have received a favourable draw for next season's Challenge Cup with the 2016 PRO12 champions drawing eighth placed Top 14 side Brive, 11th placed Aviva Premiership side Worcester Warriors and PRO D2 champions Oyonnax in Pool 5.

Connacht, who qualified for the Challenge Cup quarter-finals last year after topping Pool 1 with four wins from six games, return to the competition next season after losing to the Northampton Saints last month in a Champions Cup play-off.

The westerners have a mixed record against Brive after defeating Nicolas Godignon's side in the Sportsgrounds in Galway two seasons ago before losing in the return trip at the Stade Amédée-Domenech two months later.

Elsewhere four-time European champions Toulouse have been drawn alongside Cardiff, Sale and Lyon in Pool2, while in Pool 4 reigning Challenge Cup champions Stade Français have been pitted against Edinburgh, London Irish and Russian club Krasny Yar.
