Confidence is vital for us: O'Halloran
Connacht and Ireland full-back Tiernan O'Halloran says confidence will be the key ingredient as the province seek to accumulate victories as they try to push on into the top six of the Pro12 standings.
With only the top half of the table guaranteed a spot in next season's Champions Cup, currently Connacht trail sixth-placed Glasgow Warriors by 12 points, although Connacht's game in hand against Zebre could yet be vital in that battle.
A seventh- or eighth-place finish will give Pat Lam's side a spot in a play-off to enter the European Cup against either an English Premiership or Top 14 side, but O'Halloran and his team-mates would prefer to go the direct route that the top six provides.
Connacht still have to play Glasgow, Leinster, Scarlets and Munster, all of whom are ahead of them in the standings, but a win away to a Treviso side - ravaged by the international window - on Sunday is vital to keep their season on track.
"Everyone is in the same boat but the good thing for us is we don't have too many away so it's not that much disruption," said O'Halloran.
"Thankfully, we have a good few guys coming back from injury which is leading to good competition in the side, which is only going to help us as well."
O'Halloran has been a key performer in Connacht's recent couple of victories, as his drop goal clinched the win in Cardiff, while his early try got Connacht up and running against Dragons.
This week he has been part of Ireland camp in Carton House, but if available, he will certainly feature heavily for Lam's side in Treviso.
"It's just confidence now, that's a back-to-back win for us now and we need to keep on pushing and climb back up the table because there is still a lot of games for us to push on up the table."
