Ireland U-20 coach Nigel Carolan has picked five Connacht players in his squad for the 2015 World Rugby U-20 Championship that takes place in Italy this June.
The Connacht academy manager has had a good start to life as U-20 coach - Ireland played an attractive brand of expansive rugby in the U-20 Six Nations earlier this year and got off to a great start with wins over France and Italy but fell short in their three remaining fixtures.
Ciaran Gaffney (Galwegians), Stephen McVeigh (Buccaneers), Rory Moloney (Buccaneers), Conan O'Donnell (Sligo) and Cian Romaine (Buccaneers) have all been selected.
Meanwhile, Old Belvedere's Charlie Rock is the only uncapped player in the squad of 28 who will travel to Parma.
Ross Byrne, Billy Dardis, Gaffney, Oisin Heffernan, Nick McCarthy, Moloney, Josh Murphy and Garry Ringrose were all part of the Irish side who finished fourth in last year's Junior World Championships in New Zealand.
Leinster have contributed the biggest contingent to the U-20s with 15, Ulster have six and Munster have just two representatives.
Ireland are in Pool C along with the heavily-fancied New Zealand, Argentina and Scotland.
The Ireland U-20s begin their campaign with a game against Argentina U-20s at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi, Parma on June 2 (3.30pm Irish time).
They follow that up with a clash against Scotland U-20s at Stadio San Michele, Calvisano on June 6 (3.30pm Irish time).
On June 10, they take on the Baby Blacks at Stadio Luigi Zaffanella, Viadana (7.30pm Irish time).
The play-offs and semi-finals are set for June 15, with the final taking place on June 20.
