This Sunday sees the showpiece of the Connacht Junior Rugby season held in the Sportsground as Westport RFC take on Ballina RFC in the Junior Cup Final.

The final of the Connacht Junior Plate will also take place as part of an eagerly anticipated double-header in Galway.

The plate final will see Dunmore take on Ballinrobe in the first game of the afternoon at 1.00pm and this will be closely followed by the Cup final at 3.0pm.

Dunmore and Ballinrobe have faced each other twice already this season with the Mayo club running out 19-7 winners when they visited Dunmore back in October. The two sides couldn't be separated in November when they battled out a 13-13 draw. Similarly the two sides could not be separated in the J1C table as they finished the regular season fixture list level on points. The two rivals will meet again on April 3 in a J1C league decider so the Plate final promises to be a tight affair.

Westport and Ballina are also two sides who know each other well having battled it out in J1A this season. Ballina have beaten Westport in their two previous meetings this season but this did not stop Westport winning the J1A title. Westport will be full of confidence having lifted the Cawley Cup on St Patrick's Day, beating an impressive Monivea in the process.

That means Westport will be hoping to land a treble when they take to the field on Sunday having gained two titles already this season.
