Connacht U-18s fell to their first defeat of the 2015 Interprovincial series in CIT, Cork last Saturday.
On the back of victories over the Exiles and Ulster, Connacht, who are sponsored by NUI Galway, were confident heading into the match but the poor weather conditions snuffed out the possibility of a free flowing game and both sides fell foul to the slippery ball in an error-strewn first half, which ended at 3-3.
Munster came out of the blocks quicker on the restart and their rolling maul led to a try just two minutes into the second half.
Connacht were unable to get back on the scoreboard and Munster made effective use of their driving maul.
Connacht never gave up though and were desperately unlucky not to convert a number of linebreaks when the backline capitalised on stolen ruck ball from the aggressive pack.
It wasn't to be, however, and a couple of late tries from Munster put the result beyond doubt.
Connacht will regroup ahead of tomorrow's final Interprovincial clash against Leinster in the Sportsground (1.30), where a win could still secure the title.
