Galwegians claimed their third success in a row in this competition when they edged out arch-rivals Corinthians at Crowley Park.

CONNACHT SENIOR CUP FINAL

John Cleary grabbed two tries for the home side with Rory Parata, Colin Conroy and Brian Murphy also crossing to edge a cracking decider.

Cleary scored his first try after 15 minutes and Darragh Leader converted from the touchline to put Galwegians 7-0 up. Corinthians hit back with two tries from Conor Murphy, both converted by Finn Gormley to go 14-7 up approaching the break, but Parata grabbed Galwegians' second try, which Leader converted, to make it all square.

The holders took control after the break as Conroy and Murphy struck for tries before Cleary bagged his second to put the champions 31-14 up with 15 minutes to go.

Tries from Craig Flaherty and Aaron Conneely gave Corinthians hope, but Galwegians held on.
