ROCKWELL College coped better in dreadful conditions at Clanwilliam yesterday to book a spot in the last four.

The holders ran in three tries against outclassed Castletroy to set up a repeat of last year's semi-final against CBC Cork.

Rockwell had too much pace in their backline and power up front.

In the first half, Rockwell played into the teeth of driving wind and rain, yet still managed to establish a 12-3 lead by half-time.

Aidan Moynihan ran in a fine try in the 18th minute as Rockwell made a period of sustained pressure count, and the out-half added the conversion under the posts for a 7-0 lead.

In the 26th minute, winger Alex Lynch finished a flowing move for Rockwell's second try before Sean Moran kicked a penalty to open Castletroy's account in the 31st minute.

Rockwell's replacement scrum-half Aidan Barron was on the pitch for a matter of seconds before his pass was finished by Cillian Kiely for a third try in the 49th minute.

Moynihan completed the scoring with a 63rd-minute penalty, and the Tipperary outfit could even afford the luxury of losing flanker Sonny Dwyer to a yellow card in the 55th minute as Castletroy never threatened.
