BRILLIANT Crescent College ran in nine tries as they demolished Limerick neighbours St Clement's in the quarter-final of the Munster Schools Senior Cup at Thomond Park yesterday.
Crescent, who now meet another Limerick side St Munchin's in the semi-final, accumulated all their 53 points from tries, four of which were converted by Brian O'Shea.
St Clement's had the wind at their backs in the first half, but were on the back foot from the fifth minute when Crescent No 8 Barry Woulfe went over unchallenged for a try.
Moments later, Cian Reddan went over for a second try, which O'Shea converted.
Clement's hit back with a smashing try from centre Dara Nicholas, converted by Michael Reidy, but after that it was all one-way traffic.
Eoin Griffin and Michael Slattery added tries to give Crescent a 22-7 half-time lead. Slattery got his second just after half-time, and more followed from David Upton, Mark Ryan, Kevin McEvoy and Eoin Griffin.

GARBALLY COLLEGE 14; SLIGO GRAMMAR 8
BALLINASLOE side Garbally College booked their place in the Connacht Senior Cup semi-finals with a hard earned win over Sligo GS in Sligo yesterday.
The sides were level at 3-3 at half-time, with Julian Leonard kicking a penalty for Garbally after four minutes and Pearce Feeney equalising just before the break.
With their back-line in sparkling form, Garbally surged into a 9-3 lead after the break with a penalty and drop goal from Leonard.
Sligo got back into the game when the industrious Andrew Noble worked his way over for a try in the corner in the 70th minute. With the score at 9-8, Sligo missed the conversion and Garbally then sealed victory with a try from Anthony Downey.

SLICK St Saran's qualified for the Connacht Schools Senior Cup semi-final with a well merited win over St Joseph's of Galway in glorious sunshine at Ferbane yesterday.
St Saran's who have an unbeaten home record in Senior Cup rugby dominated up front where Conor Galvin was outstanding. Two James Coughlan penalties gave them a 6-0 interval lead.
They sealed victory in the 47th minute when flanker Ronan Guinan blocked down an attempted clearance by St Joseph's outhalf Barry O'Sullivan and centre Joe Butler got the touchdown.
Irish international David Kelly tied up possession for the remainder of the match for St Saran's with James Coughlan adding another penalty to seal it.

ROBERT DELANEY scored a super try just before half-time to give Clifden victory in yesterday's Connacht Senior Cup quarter-final at the Monastery Field in Clifden.
Clifden took the lead after 21 minutes when outhalf Paddy O'Toole landed a penalty. And they went 8-0 up when full-back Delaney finished off a fine back line move with a try.
Gort CS hit back with a try from replacement scrum-half David Monaghan in the 54th minute which outhalf Pat Whelan converted.

ST MICHEAL'S 15; CISTERCIAN ROSCREA 10
BERNARD TOLAN scored two tries to help St Michael's overcame Cistercian College, Roscrea in yesterday's Leinster Schools Junior Cup second round clash in Athy.
Backed by the wind, Roscrea took the lead with a penalty from full-back Eoin Kealy after 15 minutes. However, Tolan struck for his first try just before the break to give Ballsbridge side St Michael's a 5-3 lead.
Tolan struck for his second try eight minutes into the second half when he came in from the blind side, took an pass from outhalf James O'Flanagan, and scored a fine try which was converted by centre Peter McGibney.
Roscrea stormed back into the game when second row Simon Frazer crashed over following a well worked move. Outhalf Diarmuid Walsh converted to close the gap to 12-10, but McGibney had the final say with a penalty five minutes from time.
