O'Brien facing fitness battle
Sean O'Brien is facing a race to be fit for Leinster's Heineken Cup clash with Toulouse in three weeks' time, writes Ruaidhri O'Connor.
The back-row is recovering from a broken fibia and is currently four weeks away from fitness. And while the Tullow native says he could make it in time to face the French club, he says he won't be rushing his recovery.
"The semi-final is three weeks away and I'd be hopeful," he said.
"But I'm not going to rush back either. I just want to get over it and never look back at it. It's coming along great, almost four weeks now.
"It was bad timing, alright. Things were really going well at the time, but these things happen and it's just a matter of getting back."
The 23-year-old was in the RDS crowd on Friday night as his team-mates squeezed past Clermont-Auvergne, and he believes they will need a massive improvement to reach back-to-back finals.
"We didn't really play well at times. We played some good rugby, but it wasn't really consistent for 80 minutes. The lads have a lot to work on for the next few weeks."
