Saracens pulverised Racing Metro into submission during yesterday's Champions Cup final win in Lyon, with the regular bruisers leading the assault.

Just as they did during England's Grand Slam-winning Six Nations campaign, Billy Vunipola, George Kruis and Maro Itoje were equally destructive in the loose as they were in the tight as they added a major club prize to their recent international haul.

Vunipola's carrying is his greatest asset and while his thirst for contact repeatedly yielded gain line divided, it did leave his face in arrears at the final whistle.

The English eight had to go off to get some stitches during his team's 21-9 victory, and when he was asked by Sky Sports afterwards how many were needed to mend his facial wound, Vunipola gave a hilariously self-deprecating response.

"I don't know, I'm ugly anyway so I don't really care!"

Saracens are on course to add the Aviva Premiership title to their Champions Cup win but judging by this photo of his gruesome scar that he shared on social media, Vunipola will be lucky if this nick clears up in time for the end-of-season awards banquet.
