It is going to take a very good team to prevent holders Terenure from retaining the Leinster Schools Junior Cup on the evidence of this dismissal of Newbridge in the quarter-final at Donnybrook yesterday.

It was all too easy for the holders from the moment centre Stephen O'Neill posted a 12th-minute penalty. Prop Kevin Colgan planted a try midway through the half and it was all Terenure after that as three tries from Harrison Brewer, another from O'Neill, and one each from Jimmy McCormack and Neil O'Connor followed.

Newbridge full-back Mathew Madigan eventually earned a consolation try as the Kildare side regained some pride.
