Munster hooker Mike Sherry will see a specialist this week after suffering cruciate ligament damage in knee .

The hooker sustained the injury in Friday night's game against Newport Gwent Dragons.

He will be seeing a specialist on Thursday to identify the full extent of the injury and to discuss the prognosis further.

Gerhard van den Heever will also see a specialist on Thursday after he sustained a broken bone in his right hand.

As expected Peter O'Mahony (dead leg) and Dave Foley (hamstring) are both back in full training this week while James Coughlan (eye) has been cleared to return to full training tomorrow.

There is positive news for Donnacha Ryan (knee ligaments) and Tommy O'Donnell (knee hyper-extension) as both are ahead of schedule with their recovery and are back running.  They are expected to be involved in limited training this Friday.  O'Donnell has been out of action since the Rabo game against Zebre in September while Ryan was ruled out following the round 2 Heineken Cup game against Gloucester.

Munster host Perpignan in Thomond Park on Sunday at 12.45pm.
