Best to start but Ulster wait on Tommy Bowe fitness
LIONS hooker Rory Best will start for Ulster when they host in-form Italian side Benetton Treviso in Friday's Pro12 clash at Ravenhill.
A frustrated Best has been clicking his heels since he returned to the hard graft with Ulster, but will get at least 40-50 minutes as they seek their first competitive home win of the season.
Coach Mark Anscombe will juggle a few positions behind the scrum with Ireland wing Craig Gilroy rumoured to be starting at full-back, with regular No 15 Jared Payne moving inside to partner Luke Marshall.
It is still undecided whether Tommy Bowe or Stuart Olding will feature in the game.
Assistant coach Neil Doak said both have been training and an assessment will be made tomorrow on their availability.
"We will leave things until later in the week before making any decisions," said Doak, who was pleased with Ulster's win over Connacht last Saturday as the team got back on track, after two opening defeats.
"We were just not clinical enough and failed to finish things off. We are creating opportunities which is obviously good. But we are still not putting teams away in the way we should," he insisted.
