BBC rugby commentator Brian Moore is known for his outspoken views but the former England rugby international has been angered by a comment made by a Daily Mail sports journalist in a recent article.
Moore, who won three Grand Slams with England at hooker, took exception to a reference to his unborn children in a column by Charlie Sale.
Moore's wife Belinda is expecting twins and the Telegraph rugby columnist accused Sale of using his 'heavily pregnant wife as a hook to have a go' at him.
In a piece about Wimbledon, Sale wrote:
"Having to keep especially calm watching Andy Murray's fourth round masterclass against Nick Kyrgios was former BBC producer Belinda Moore, who is expecting twins very soon. Belinda is the third wife of loveable rugby pundit Brian Moore, who will soon be too busy on the home front to have time to tweet his usual rubbish."
Moore immediately called out Sale on Twitter for his remark, and defended his response to many of his followers who felt he had gone overboard.
His wife Belinda also chastised the Daily Mail journalist for referring to her unborn children.
Charlie Sale hits an all time low using the upcoming arrival of our twins to have a dig @brianmoore666 They are not even safely here yet!— Belinda Moore (@BelsMoore) July 6, 2016
She complained about being used in a story; the reason he did this was she refused to speak to him. https://t.co/dya7BGWEau— Brian Moore (@brianmoore666) July 6, 2016
So @charliesale nothing to say about using my heavily pregnant wife as a hook to have a go at me in your column today? Thought not - coward.— Brian Moore (@brianmoore666) July 6, 2016
@JoshDugdale Yeah when your heavily pregnant wife is used you'll have a real laugh won't you - twat.— Brian Moore (@brianmoore666) July 6, 2016
