Barnes may fill 'a' void

Hugh Farrelly

A SPACE has been left open on the Munster 'A' side ahead of their opening British and Irish Cup tie against Llanelli at the Waterford Regional Ground tonight (7.30).

Coach Anthony Foley has left the right-wing berth open, which could be filled by Dolphin winger Danny Barnes if he is not required by the seniors against Toulon.

Simon Zebo provides pace on the opposite wing, while Foley has also chosen powerful props in Dave Ryan and Darragh Hurley.

MUNSTER 'A' -- S Scanlon; AN Other, I Dineen, T Smith, S Zebo; D Cusack, C Murray; D Ryan, S Henry, D Hurley; D Foley (capt), I Nagle; B Holland, T O'Donnell, P O'Mahony. Reps: M Sherry, S Archer, D O'Callaghan, P Butler, P Rowley, G Quinn-McDonagh, R O'Mahoney.
