Ballynahinch power out of drop-zone

A resounding victory for Ballynahinch lifted them out of the relegation zone with only four more games remaining in the competition.

This was a confidence-boosting result for 'Hinch as the season has been a far from successful one considering the trophies they accumulated last year.

It was their forwards that completely dominated this game at Ballymacarn Park as they never allowed the visiting three-quarters enough ball to show their pace.

A maximum-points victory for Clonakilty over local rivals Highfield at the Vale has lifted the West Cork side out of the relegation zone.

Highfield now occupy the second relegation spot and with five games remaining the Woodleigh Park side have it all to do to stay up.

Seven minutes from time Dave Kelly went in for a Highfield try, but Clonakilty full-back John O'Donnell secured the bonus point with a fourth try on the stroke of time, to seal Clonakilty's win.

Greystones were once again losers on Saturday when second-placed DLSP came out on top.

Out-half Conor Hickey got DLSP off to a perfect start with a penalty after 10 minutes, then a fine individual try from full-back JC Power saw them extend their lead.

Power then added a second try of the day on 25 minutes.

A Bobby Clancey try for Greystones gave them some hope at half-time but a third DLSP try by wing Adam Philpott and a further penalty saw off the Greystones challenge.
